Undercoat primer for composite doors

As a decorator I would rather undercoat after the primer and gently flat it off with wet n dry then apply a thinned coat of an oil based gloss or use waterbased if you prefer, although water based gloss will never have the shine that an oil based gloss does. If the wood is bare you will need to use a knotting solution on all knots, an acrylic primer will be fine, then undercoat and lastly a gloss. If wood has already been painte then you will only need an undercoat and a gloss coat.
